Tour Description

Overview

One of the most beautiful state in Southern part of India on the Malabar Coast, Kerala, which is blessed with unique geographical features that have made it one of the most sought after tourist destinations in India. The state is blessed with natural beauty in the form of beaches, mountain ranges, wildlife, backwaters and lush green areas offer a breath taking view.

Cochin Holiday Tour package will give you the chance to explore some of the most popular locations of the region such as Cochin, Kumarakom, Alleppey, Quilon, Kollam and Trivandrum. During this tour you will visit some major attractions of the places along with that you will also spot the beautiful birds at Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Apart from this you will also enjoy the houseboat in Alleppey and Quilon. The duration of the tour is 04 nights and 05 days.

Itinerary

Day 1 :  Cochin Sightseeing

Upon arrival in Cochin, get an assisted transfer to the hotel. Cochin is one of the most important city of Kerala which is also known as Cochin. Located on the south-west coast in Kerala which is also known as the Gateway to Kerala, situated on the Arabian Sea. The city was also influenced by British, Dutch, and Portuguese, who has left their indelible marks which is spread over the city through the beautiful architecture, culture and traditions. We can still feel the essence of the cultural diversity.

Upon arrival check in to the hotel. Post lunch, enjoy the boat ride. Later, proceed to visit some major attractions of Cochin such as the oldest Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church and Mattancherry Palace. Stay overnight at the city hotel.

Day 2 :  Cochin-Kumarakom (By Road-50 Kilometres) Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is the one of the most popular tourist destination in Kerala. It is renowned for backwater, located on the Vembanad Lake, which is the largest lake of fresh water. The backwater fishing village is indeed a haven, and has had its attractions advertised by some stunning top end resorts by the side of Vembanad Lake.  

On arrival, check into the hotel. After freshen up, proceed for sightseeing of Kumarkom, and visit the major attractions along with Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Protected by a thick cluster of mangroves, the bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres and home to over 180 species of birds. It is best to visit on foot by one and half kilometres on walking trek, where you are likely to spot heron, darters, water duck, waterfowl, owl, cuckoo and Siberian cranes. It is one of the most popular tourist attraction of the town.
After sightseeing return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 :  Kumarakom-Alleppey (By Road-35 Kilometres) Sightseeing

Today, after an early breakfast, enjoy the luxurious boat ride across the Vemband Lake in a houseboat.
Later proceed to visit Alleppey. Alleppey also known as Alappuzha. It is one of the oldest planned city of the kerala, located about 75 kilometres away from Kochi and about 155 kilometres from Trivandrum. It is one of the popular tourist destination of India. It is famous for backwaters. There are at least six navigable canals in the town. In the east they open to the backwater connecting the city to the mesh of backwater trials, which are abuzz with reinvented kettuvalloms (houseboats).In this fresh and salt water eco system, visitors come to rediscover life lived at a deliciously slow pace.

On reaching at Alleppy, check in at your pre booked resort. After freshen up, proceed to visit some major attractions such as Ambalapuzha Sree Krishna Temple, built between fifteenth and the seventeenth A.D in a typical Kerala style, then visit St Andrews Church, apart from this also enjoy the surroundings of the backwater.  Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 4 :  Alleppey-Quilon (By Road-95 Kilometres) Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, board a houseboat and proceed to Quilon, which is also known as Kollam, which is one of the tiny and spectacular town, located on the bank of Ashtamudi Lake. It was ancient trading town for spices.  It is known as cashew processing and coir manufacturing.  It is the one of fourth most popular city of the state of Kerala. Ashtamudi Lake is the known as a gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. Kollam can be seen as sandwiched between the Arabian Sea and Ashtamudi Lake

On arrival, proceed for an excursion to Alumkadavu, the Houseboat jetty. Staying overnight in the houseboat.

Day 5 :  Quilon-Trivandrum (By Road-65 Kilometres) Sightseeing

Today is the last day of the tour, after having an early breakfast, drive to Trivandrum. On arrival, begin the city excursion covering the prime tourist attractions such as the City Museum, Shri Chitra Art Gallery and Padmanabha Swamy Temple.
